i live in long beach, California and my girlfriend just moved a few weeks ago. She moved to Tennessee(city still unknown) and we said that we can talk to each other. what is a possible way to have better communication with each other using the web and other sources??? plz help me im confused in many ways

I am in a long distance relationship and all I can offer you is some of my wisdom but it wont help any sadness im sorry to say. Instant messaging is a given I use Yahoo and sometimes Skype with skype you can also go free calling and webcam and both run very smoothly (moreso then yahoo) Also, calling is another way to keep in touch. Emailing pictures, videos, things to help the other feel like they are part of your life. But the important thing is t ALWAYS communicate, talk about whats up, whats bothering you and whatnot. one other thing Text messageing any other questions feel free to IM me =)

I have a siberian husky back in my home country-Taiwan, and right now, my girlfriend is taking care of him for me , and she will come to US and we'll get marry, so our husky must come with her, or no one else can take care him for us. I have a work at the Long Beach Downtown, so I was try to find an apartment near that area, but most of them are have breed restriction, and husky are on their list, so I want to know if there any apartment accept the husky, Thank you.

The clerks that are threatening to go on strike right now (and are in the news right now) work for the ILWU (International Longshore Workers Union). In order to get a job with the port of Los Angeles, in Long Beach you must apply with the union first and be accepted as a member and start paying dues. Then you must wait for a job opening to become available. Check the web site for the ILWU and see what information they can give you from there.

Any restaurants near Long Beach that prepare a weeks worth of food?
I know in some places they have restaurants specifically for you to order a weeks worth of food. They prep it, and you can cook it whenever you feel like for that week. They are generally healthy food, is there a place like that in or near the Long Beach/LA area? I work a lot, and it would be convienent to find one.

I got married so I changed my name. Well my husband is from another country and there he has to have his father's last name then his mother's, but here he only uses one (his dad's lastname). But in our marriage certificate they had to put both of his lastnames. Now when I went to change my name I have to use both of his last names also. They dont understand the meaning of both of his lastnames, this doesnt make me his wife, but his sister since I have both of his dad's & mother's last name. Im suppouse to have his then mine... What can I do???

I have my heart set on a beach wedding. I am from Kentucky so any beach will work as long as its not too far (NC, SC or northern FL). The problem is, is my brother is in a wheelchair and its very important to me that he is comfortable. I am thinking a deck, concrete area with beach veiw, or a peir of some sort. I am getting married in June. PLEASE HELP

I am not sure if it's wheelchair accessable but this might be a good spot, it's by cliff walk in Newport Rhodes Island. THe view from cliff walk is beautiful. Hi! I've got your beach for you. Marconi Beach at the Cape Cod National Seashore in Wellfleet, Massachusetts. Not the beach itself but the platform above the Marconi station site : "enhances this view, and offers vistas southward to Eastham, and northward to Truro." It's located in the same parking lot as the Atlantic White Cedar Swamp trail (again, not at the beach itself) and is accessible. It's an amazing view-I'd know, I was married there! You just need to get a crazy cheap permit from the Park Service-call them about this. Congratulations! Coast Guard and Herring Cove beaches provide accessible parking, restrooms, changing facilities, and beach wheelchairs. Herring Cove Beach features showers that accommodate wheelchairs. The Salt Pond Visitor Center is accessible to people using wheelchairs. The Province Lands Visitor Center is accessible via a moderately steep ramp way. Various overlooks throughout the park are suited for wheelchair access. Ask at visitor centers for a brochure describing accessible features.

There is a salon name "Heads Up Designs" in Long Beach. The address is 906 E. Artesia Blvd. I would go there to get my hair straighten by Atwell. His number is (562) 423-0988. He does a great job when it comes to straightening hair, plus he color and cuts. But if you are just looking to keep your hair curly, I would suggest you do the following: 1) Never use shampoo that contains Sodium Laurel Sulfate; instead use an organic shampoo, cleansing cream, or just conditioner to wash scalp and hair. 2) In the morning when you shower rinse hair, apply conditioner or cleansing cream to clean hair and scalp, rinse then apply a thick conditioner. I like the ones that have silk protein the best cheap one is Suave Naturals Tropical Coconut, medium priced one is Jessi-curl Too Shea! conditioner, and high priced Biolage Conditioning Balm. 3) After you run the conditioner in hair let it sit in for about 5 minutes than you want to use a wide tooth comb to detangle curls starting from the ends up to root till the comb slips through easily through hair. Rinse. 4) Do not towel dry. Use paper towels to dry hair never a terry cloth or let it just drip.Do not comb or brush hair, curls are already in place, doing so will make them frizzy. Reapply the same conditioner you used in shower, apply mango butter. You can get mango butter from Whole Foods Store or order through www.MountainHerbRose.com If your hair and scalp is really dry you can also apply coconut oil. Make sure its organic and that it comes from Whole Foods or moutain herb rose. 5) Apply gel. The best gels so far are Eco Styler Gel ranges 8-10, and I.C. Fantasia styling gel. Make sure any gel you use contains no alcohol. Voila! You have nice curls.

My roomate and I agreed on Long Beach because the rent was cheaper and the it seems nice. What parts should we stay away from and so you think it's really that far from L.A.? Anythin you can tell me about the commute, jobs, and Long Beach would be awsome. Do* you think it is that far? Is it realistic? I have a bike and was planning on commuting on the train.

Just say NO!! don't do it!! don't underestimate the value of your time. whatever money you might save on rent will be lost in the 4 hours a day that you'll spend taking public transportation or even worse, sitting on the 405 parking lot!! It's just not worth it. Especially not if you have a choice. Plus, although long beach has its nice areas, it's really not as nice as some of the beach cities further north, or even the OC beaches. Now if you plan on working and living in Long beach, then go for it. If your looking into more affordable areas closer to LA, check out Culver city, Mar Vista, playa del rey and El segundo. They are all on west side, have good weather, are nice enough, and not as expensive as near by and more popular Santa monica, Venice and manhattan. Either way, in LA it's all about working where you live!! I consider myself so lucky each day as I walk home from work.. Trust me, los angeles traffic is beastly!!

Living in Long Beach and commuting to LA is not how you want to spend your time. Traffic is bad and public transportation takes even longer than driving. Personally I love my part of Long Beach, beautiful old homes with big trees, cool old apartment buildings, funky old bars and restaurants, great shops and it's all out my front door and very walkable. Quite a few TV shows and movies get filmed where I live. My neighbors are great and it's easy to meet people just walking down the street. Of course 80% of LBC isn't like that. Quite a bit of it is very poor. Since there are fewer nice areas I will name the places you want to live in and not the ones you want to stay away from. Belmont Shore, Belmont Heights, Bluff Park, Naples, the Peninsula, California Heights, Bixby Knolls, Park Estates, Virginia Country Club, Rancho and Carrol Park are the places you would want to live. If you don't already have a job lined up before you move here than you shouldn't come out here. Our unemployment rate is over 10% and even my frineds with college degrees can't get jobs.
